(Poland / France / USA); aka pseudonyms Rojan / Brunner

   Painter, illustrator, wood engraver, cartoonist, draughtsman, and designer. Best known as children's book illustrator, such as the very popular Le Pere Castor, he also produced a considerable amount of erotica, especially the portfolio "Idylle Printaniere" [originally titled "De Montparnasse a Pigalle"] in 1933 consisting of 30 lithographs produced in 5 16 sets, which wordlessly tells the story of the chance meeting of a man and a woman. In 1939 he moved to the U.S. and produced no more erotic work.
